T-Shirt Design Contest
Each year, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum unveils a brand-new SubFest t-shirt, and we’re looking for your design for 2026! Artists and designers are invited to submit original artwork celebrating SubFest and Manitowoc’s submarine-building legacy.
Submission Deadline: March 31, 2026
Entry Fee: $5 to prevent joke submissions; funds will be put towards USS COBIA preservation
Winner Perks
The winning design will be printed on all staff and public SubFest 2026 t-shirts. The designer will receive:
- A FREE SubFest t-shirt
- A FREE individual museum membership
- On-stage recognition during SubFest on July 4
- Design credit shared across Wisconsin Maritime Museum social media platforms
Design Requirements
- Must be original work (no copyrighted or trademarked characters, logos, or text)
- Content must be family-friendly and appropriate for a general audience.
- No promotion of products or services beyond SubFest
- Design must include front and back artwork representing all 28 submarines built in Manitowoc.
- Required elements:
- Names of all 28 Manitowoc submarines
- Year: 2026
- Wisconsin Maritime Museum name
- Two shirt color options required (one for staff, one for the public)
- File format: PDF
- Use of the WMM logo is allowed only with museum approval.
Rights & Ownership
By submitting a design, you agree that if selected, the Wisconsin Maritime Museum may use, modify, and reproduce the artwork for printing and promotional purposes at no cost. The winning designer will be required to sign a usage waiver.
Design submissions are due March 31, 2026.
