Think & Drink – What Do the TITANIC, the Bible & Superman Have in Common? Project Habbakuk

The Wisconsin Maritime Museum is thrilled to announce the next installment of its Think & Drink series: “What Do the TITANIC, the Bible & Superman Have in Common? Project Habbakuk”, a captivating presentation by renowned maritime archaeologist Dr. Susan Langley, on Wednesday, June 5 at 6:30 PM.
Admission is free and open to the public, with refreshments available for purchase. For this event, we’re featuring a fittingly bold beverage: the Bloody Cesar.
Dr. Langley, who has led the Maryland Maritime Archaeology Program for over 30 years, will guide audiences through the astonishing story of Project Habbakuk—a World War II Allied plan to build an aircraft carrier out of ice. Her talk will connect the unlikely trio of the TITANIC, biblical prophecy, and the Man of Steel to this audacious, little-known chapter in maritime innovation.
A pioneer in her field, Dr. Langley serves as both the State Underwater Archaeologist and Dive Safety Officer for Maryland. She also works with the U.S. Coast Guard’s Area Contingency Planning Committee, addressing the preservation of submerged historic resources in the face of environmental hazards. Her distinguished resume includes roles with UNESCO, the Society for Historical Archaeology, and numerous universities and research institutions around the globe.
