Did you know that most museums have less than 10% of their collections on display at any given time? The Wisconsin Maritime Museum’s collection contains over 85,000 historic artifacts, photographs, works of art, and documents – most of which are not featured in current exhibitions.
Drop in anytime between 12:30 and 3:00pm on Saturday, as Archives and Collections Manager Serena Stuettgen brings artifacts from our collections storage out into the galleries. During this up-close viewing of historic artifacts, learn the stories behind the objects and discover what it is like to care for a museum’s collection on a day-to-day basis. Artifacts will include a variety of different materials and subject matter.
This event is included in regular Museum admission and does not require registration. WMM Members are always free!
