Launched – August 13, 1944

Commissioned – February 9, 1945

The war ended during USS Loggerhead’s second patrol. She was then assigned to the inactive Pacific Fleet in 1945 to be refitted and assigned as a US Naval Reserve Training Ship in 1960. She was converted to an Auxiliary Submarine (AGSS) in 1962 and placed in reserve until stricken from the Naval Register in 1967.
