USS Jallao made four war patrols earning four Battle Stars and the Asiatic-Pacific Area Service Medal. She sank the Japanese light cruiser Tami on her first patrol and a 5,795 ton freighter on her last patrol. During an attack on Jallao‘s second patrol, her periscope was hit by the screw of an escort passing over the boat. On her third patrol, Jallao rescued five downed airmen.
Jallao made almost 8,000 dives during her 30 years in the US Navy, before being transferred to the Spanish Navy in 1974 and renamed Narciso Monturiol (S 35).
