Birthday parties at the Wisconsin Maritime Museum are always a blast! Your child and their friends can tour our World War II submarine USS Cobia, explore the museum, or building ROV’s to test out in water.

Birthday Party FAQ’s

Can I host my party after hours?
You may host your event after hours but you will be subject to an extra fee.
Can we use a caterer?
Yes, we offer a list of fantastic caterers!
Are both adults and children counted toward the total number of guests?
Yes, both children and adults count toward the total number of guests.
What is the maximum number of guests we can have?
Due to COVID-19 concerns, we are limiting birthday parties to 20 people maximum at this time. Please try to have an accurate count for how many will be attending so staff can plan accordingly.
Some of my guests are members at the Museum, do we still include them in the guest count?
All adults and children attending the party (are in the room, participate in the activity, etc.) do count towards your final guest count regardless of if they are members or not.
Can we bring our own food?
Yes, you can bring your own food, but all drinks must be purchased through the Museum in accordance with our Liquor License. A Drink Package is available.
Can I decorate myself?
You will be allowed 30 minutes before and after the party for setup and clean up.
Can I arrive early?
Yes. You may arrive 30 minutes before your scheduled rental time for set up.
Am I responsible for the set-up and clean-up of the party space?
The museum staff will set up tables and chairs. You are responsible for the set-up and clean-up of decorations.
Can I stay late?
The room will no longer be available 30 minutes following the party end time.
Is there a place to store or refrigerate my dessert?
Yes. Please check with the front desk staff upon arrival.
What equipment will you provide?
We will provide tables, chairs, and audio/visual equipment.

Pricing

A Wisconsin Maritime Museum birthday party includes museum admission for 20 people, a private submarine tour(s), and two-hour room rental.

Basic rental rate for non-members:     $150

Basic rental rate for Members:     $135

Additional guests:  Children $5, Adults $10

Add-On Options

ROV Education Program – $60 (Recommended for Ages 8-13)
Birthday partygoers will learn about underwater robots, build them, and test them. At the time, we only have supplies to do ROVs for up to 20 kids. 

Extra Time in Rented Room – $30 per hour

Drink Package (Unlimited juice and/or soda) – $25 (per 10 guests)

After-hours party – $75

Additional Information 

Deposit
A 50% deposit is due 2-weeks after the booking is confirmed.

Available Discounts
Wisconsin Maritime Museum members and active military get a 10% discount on birthday parties.

Dropping Off Children
At the discretion of the party host, guests of the birthday child may be dropped off. A caretaker must sign the child in and out of the party and leave an emergency contact.

Supervision & Safety
The party host family is responsible for the supervision and safety of all children. The Wisconsin Maritime Museum recommends 1 adult per 4 kids. No child should be left unattended.

Decorations
Permitted decorations include tablecloths, table-toppers, centerpieces and party favors. The Wisconsin Maritime Museum does not allow piñatas, silly string or hanging decorations on the wall or ceiling. Glitter and confetti are also not allowed.
