SUMMARY:Diving Deeper Tour Aboard USS COBIA
DESCRIPTION:Join submarine veteran Greg Miller on an in-depth tour aboard the USS COBIA! You can learn what it was really like living and working on a submarine with 80 other crewmembers for over two months at a time from someone who experienced a diesel boat just like our very own COBIA. This two- to three-hour tour focuses more on personal stories\, so feel free to ask Greg all of your submarine questions! \nThe cost is $35 for non-members and $30 for WMM Members. Space is limited\, so reservations are required. Tickets are NON-REFUNDABLE. Purchase tickets here: Museum Store \nPlease note\, this tour is not recommended for children under age 12 due to the length of the tour. The tour is starting at 12:30. Please pick up your tickets at the front desk the day of your tour. We recommend showing up at least 15 minutes ahead of your tour.

DESCRIPTION:Join the Wisconsin Maritime Museum for the one-night-only premiere of Shine She Must: Keeping Cobia Alive\, a documentary chronicling USS Cobia’s journey through an extensive dry-dock maintenance project in 2025. \nOn September 7\, 2025\, World War II submarine USS Cobia left her home port in Manitowoc for Fincantieri Bay Shipbuilding in Sturgeon Bay for long-overdue maintenance. More than a restoration story\, Shine She Must follows museum staff\, shipyard crews\, volunteers\, and the waterfront community as they take on the massive task of preserving one of America’s most historically accurate fleet submarines. \nBattling time\, Mother Nature\, and mounting costs\, the film explores the very real challenge of preserving living history—and what happens when a community comes together to ensure Cobia’s legacy is not forgotten. DESCRIPTION:Sudden summer severe storms and frigid\, lake-effect blizzards…The weather of Northeast Wisconsin is as unpredictable as it is powerful. Why does our region experience such extreme\, four-season swings\, and how have historical weather events shaped our communities? From the Neville Public Museum’s Spectacular Science: Weather exhibit\, this program explores the unique meteorological forces that create our climate and the science behind Wisconsin’s most dramatic historic weather events. \nJoin museum curator James Peth as he uncovers the science and historic storms that have defined Northeast Wisconsin’s skies. \nAdmission is free and open to the public\, with refreshments available for purchase. Each event features a specialty cocktail. \nDoors and cash bar open at 6:00 PM. Both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase at the limited bar.
