November 23 @ 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Please join the Wisconsin Maritime Museum on November 23, 2024 at 5:00pm for our free presentation “Lost on the Lakes: Remembering ROUSE SIMMONS”.
The Wisconsin Maritime Museum, in partnership with Rogers Street Fishing Village, the Milwaukee Community Sailing Center, and World Ocean School, invites you to embark on a journey into the captivating tale of the wreck ROUSE SIMMONS!
Known affectionately as the Christmas Tree Ship, it vanished off the coast of Two Rivers on November 23, 1912 heavily laden with evergreens destined for Chicago just in time for the holidays. The schooner’s final resting place remained hidden beneath the waves for 59 long years until it was discovered resting just 165 feet below the surface – and still filled to the brim with Christmas trees. Join us for a story-filled adventure as we discover how the spirit of ROUSE SIMMONS lives on.
Alcohol and nonalcoholic drinks will be available for purchase at the limited bar.
