For the second year in a row the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, in conjunction with the City of Manitowoc, YMCA, Manitowoc Marina, Festival Foods, Yacht Club, etc, are hosting Fourth on the Shore 2014!
Here at the museum we will start the day with an 8am Kayak & Canoe paddle starting at Manitou Park. Those who want to join can meet at Manitou at 7:30am. You can bring your own kayak or canoe, or some will be available to use. (Please contact the Manitowoc Marina to arrange. Thank you Manitowoc Marina!)
Vendors will start at 10am and run until 4pm. So far we have Meuer Farm LLC, Origami Owl Jewelry, Grace Adele bags, Scentsy Wickless candles, Miche, and Yellow Dog Treats signed on. We will announce more soon!
From 10am to 3pm the Operating Model Steam Engines Display will be on the East side of the Gerald R. Pilger Memorial Quarterdeck. If you didn't see this display last year, you have to come this year! Even if you aren't into models, the working mini engines will definitely fascinate you!
Love smelt? Then come down and enjoy the smelt fry we will have on the West side of the Quarterdeck. More details will come soon. And don't worry, if you don't like smelt, Kenny's Klub will have other options too. You can also grab a cold drink while you snack on your smelt!
The 4th of July is after all, or nations birthday, so at noon Mayor Justin Nickels will be sounding USS Cobia's horn. Come down and help us celebrate!
The Museum will also be open for business as usual, but admission for the day will only be $4 per person! This will include a shortened CODE RED submarine tour! What a great deal!
Other events during the day will consist of a bike ride (contact Broken Spoke Bikes), kids games and music at the Manitowoc-Two Rivers YMCA, the Manitowoc Marine Band will be playing behind the Best Western, music and food at the Manitowoc Yacht Club, and the Salmon Derby will also be taking place. There will also be fireworks in the evening. More details and times for these events will be available soon!
And thank you to Festival Foods of Manitowoc or their help in making this event possible!
