Summer Hours: the Museum will be open from 9:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., 7 days a week, through Labor Day weekend.

Fall Hours: the Museum is open from 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m., 7 days a week, from day after Labor Day through Memorial Day weekend.

All programs are free with paid admission or membership unless otherwise indicated.

Harvesting The Inland Sea

Temporary Exhibit
"Harvesting the Inland Seas - Commercial Fishing on the Great Lakes"

An exhibit that traces lake fishing from the 1830s to the present, focusing on Wisconsin and illustrating how this once thriving industry contributed to the economy and flavor of the area.

 

 


28 Manitowoc-built Submarine Reunion & USS Lagarto Remembrance
May 1-4, 2008

USS PetoThe famous "28-Boat Reunion" honors those who served aboard the submarines during and after World War II, as well as the thousands of people in Northeastern Wisconsin who built them. Current plans for the reunion include an engine start up aboard USS COBIA, the annual USS Lagarto Remembrance Day Ceremony, and a premier showing of Lost and Found: The Legacy of USS Lagarto.

Visit the Wisconsin Maritime Museum, Wisconsin's only Smithsonian Affiliate to reminisce with old shipmates or co-workers and experience USS Cobia, the nation's most completely restored World War II submarine. 32nd Annual Midwestern Model Ships & Boats Contest and Display
Friday-Sunday, May 16-18, 2008

Many of the finest maritime models in the country can be seen on this special weekend, when modelers from across the United States and Canada meet and take part in a modelers’ symposium, banquet, and round table discussions.

R/C modelers run their boats in their boat pond across the street from the Museum. The public is welcome to view the models, talk to modelers, and even vote for the People's Choice award!

Annual USS Cobia Crew Reunion

The crew of USS Cobia will be here for their annual reunion. Visitors can meet the crew and hear Cobia's engine's come to life!
